Beautiful woodfired tea bowl by Tom White, with opalescent pale green to lavender crackle glaze, and warm flashing slip. Tom’s work has a beautiful warmth and weight. Fired in a wood fueled kiln, the toasty clay color you see at the bottom is naturally glazed with wood ash! The kiln is fired to a high temperature where the wood ash actually melts to form a glass which glazes the pottery. (The pale circular markings underneath are characteristic of salt fired or woodfired pottery.)  Made with high-temperature durable stoneware. Microwave and dishwasher safe.
