Thank you for taking an interest in my work. My passion for woodturning started with the encouragement of my 8th grade shop teacher, Mr. Sturgeon, in Walnut Creek, California. My parents gave me a lathe for Christmas in 1969, and for a few years they drove me to arts and crafts fairs where I could sell my creations. My focus is on making functional bowls, platters and trays that are easy to hold, and look at. You will notice that most of my bowls and trays have rims with textures or indentations into which your fingers can nestle for a good grip. The wood I use is domestic (No need to cut down the rain forests to make a decent bowl!).
