A stone carver for over 40 years, Ellen Sidor studied at Boston Museum School, Art Institute at AZ-Sonoran Desert Museum, Provincetown Art Assn and Museum, and Castle Hill Center for the Arts, teaching at the latter two during 25 summers on Cape Cod. Over 500 of her carvings have been sold; over 30 galleries have shown her work, and collectors include four Buddhist temples and the Provincetown Art Museum. From her inventor father and Julliard student mother, she inherited creativity and a passion for hands-on work. “This body, this life are containers for Spirit energy which produces an endless river of images. I can already tell this life is going to be too short.”
