I grew up exposed to carpentry. When I was 5, my
family bought an old shoe factory and turned it into
a home. We lowered the ceilings, added and took
out doors and windows, and so on. In my teens I
made balsa wood planes and rockets. In my 20s
and 30s I started trying to do fine woodworking
making small pieces of furniture, wooden puzzles
and acoustic guitars. After I got my first house and
had a real workshop, I made furniture for the
house. My day job was as a mechanical engineer
for 28 years. Now I try to bring together my
understanding of wood as an engineering material
and as an expressive craft medium to make
durable, useful & attractive objects people would
like in their home.
