I work in porcelain clay, crafting each piece on the potters wheel and then altering the form in some way during the trimming process. I enjoy the smooth, tactile quality of porcelain as well as the challenges of working with porcelain and its demand for me to stay present and focused throughout the creative process.
Many of my pieces are contemplative. My work is often glazed in such a way that one is drawn into the lines and form of the piece without having to compete with a decorative surface treatment. I enjoy playing with the idea of asymmetry in my work as well as playing with groups of pots and the relationship of each piece to each other and the space created between them.
