Connie’s work reflects her love of children’s literature and storytelling and her desire to bring a playful lightness into each of her one-of-a-kind pieces.
Working exclusively in porcelain, Connie uses hand building techniques to create her forms, uses sgraffito to draw each of her story-themes, and hand paints each tiny house and tree with colored slips. She places her designs on the interior of each and often on their exteriors as well.
Connie has a degree in American Studies and Creative Writing from Smith College where she attended as an Ada Comstock Scholar. She returned to clay after a long hiatus. She works in her home studio in York, ME with her husband, Lars.
