At age 10, I learned to sew on a Singer treadle machine and began my life as a fiber artist. In my 20s, I opened a dress shop and did leather work before finally morphing into an ornament maker in my 30s. I sew almost every day. Being an ornament maker has given me the freedom and joy of creating with no boundaries. My ornaments are created by freehand stitching on a three-layer sandwich of wool/rayon felt and Dacron polyfil fiber. Each ornament is hand cut, painted with acrylic paint and embellished with beads, feathers and metallic paint highlights.
