Rug hooking has become a passion of mine. As a wildlife biologist my love for animals and their habitats have become my signature. I enjoy hand-dying the wool to try to mimic the subtle tones of nature. My mentor, Ann Winterling, instilled in me to design my own rugs and make them my own. Another love of mine is eco-dyed scarves. The process includes selecting leaves and flowers to be imprinted on silk as they are boiled in a dye bath using a variety of mordants. The end result is always beautiful and always different!

Sheer crepe silk scarf in soft purple tones by Julie Robinson. Julie is most recognized by her work with natural dyes. In this piece she imprints the silk with geranium and sycamore leaves.
