Wood firing adds a warmth and natural variation to my functional and sculptural pottery that I hope will invite touch and contemplation. I enjoy using processes, textures, and materials that allow the viewer to see the story of how the piece was made recorded in the clay and to see a personality in each pot.
Inspiration for my much of my work is drawn from old American and Japanese pottery. Other work reflects my interests in science and the horror genre. I enjoy exploring new forms and textures, striving for spontaneous and organic flow.
