Julie studied Embroidery in the UK with qualifications from City & Guilds of London. Teaching various aspects of embroidery & design. She creates work using various techniques, both traditional and experimental, mostly landscapes or the natural elements of this. The structure & texture of the environment give endless inspirations for stitchery ideas. She uses all kinds of fibers, threads & fabrics. Painting the background for some and use of soluble stabilizers creating layer upon layer of free motion stitching and hand embroidery, experimental techniques, felting, beads etc. to create the effect & feeling she is striving for. Winning multiple awards at juried shows in the past 25+ years.
