As a furniture maker, specialty carver and public artist I combine advanced woodworking skills with imaginative artistry. My public art works have been featured in libraries, museums, hospitals and schools nationwide. I think carefully about the environment in which my work will be seen, and I design work that relates to it. Art best serves us when it is forward looking and inspirational, focusing on what is best in ourselves and our natural world. My work includes of mural work in high relief using collage in a manner inspired by that of Marc Chagall. Other inspirations have been Brancusi for his simplicity of line, Picasso for his interpretive dimensionality, and Bill Ried for his connection to indigenous art forms.
