Susan (Link)Silverman was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. She began her interest in the arts while a student at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Following a period of travel and study in Japan, she focused on the ceramic arts and sumi-e (ink painting. Since 1982, she has operated a production pottery studio, Five Wings Studio, next to her home in Fitzwilliam, New Hampshire. She has shown her ceramic work and ink paintings in many regional and national shows, including 20 years at the League’s annual crafts fair. She currently is an Assistant Professor of Fine Arts at Franklin Pierce University teaching courses in ceramics, printmaking and oriental brush painting.
