R.P. Hale is a multigenerational interdisciplinary artist, scientist and teacher. He is a nationally-known master calligrapher, medical illustrator, wood engraver, paper-marbler, harpsichord maker as well as concert musician and teaches in all his fields. He is also a working solar astronomer and PhD candidate in Archaeoastronomy and Maya Cultures. He is a Councilor with the NH State Council on the Arts.Hale does his wood engraving and printing with tools and equipment he inherited, mostly going five generations back. His prints and calligraphy are in exhibits, museums and private collections worldwide. He moved from his native Tucson AZ to Concord in 1980, and is heavily involved in community life.
