My work is English smocking of mainly children’s clothing. All of the smocking is done by hand and everything is French-seamed. I am very particular with my choice of fabric – it has to enhance the design and be of very great quality. I put four inch hems in all the dresses to allow for growth. I smock bishops for little girls, flannel nightgowns with matching doll nighties, Baptismal gowns, baby sacques, bibs, jumpers and sundresses, boys and girls bubbles,doll dresses and adult pieces by request. I sometimes like to step outside the boundaries of traditional fabric and color choices with my smocking to create something distinctly different yet still yielding the classic smocked garment.
