I’ve been a graphic designer, a technical illustrator and a painter for over 20 years, but when I touched clay for the first time, I was captivated and haven’t looked back since. Clay is an art form that combines everything I love: the relationship between form and function, design, craftsmanship, color and texture. My recent work incorporates either print, sgraffito, silk-screen, stencils, painting or water abrasion, as well as a combination of techniques for transferring imagery onto clay. Most of my ideas are derived from what I see in nature, but I am also inspired by fabric, tapestry, lace and tiles and use my computer skills to finalize designs before applying them to the ceramic surface.
