Luanne Meader

Juried Member Since 2019

Luanne Meader graduated from North Bennet Street School (Jewelry Course) She has made a career of selling antiques with an emphasis on handmade and antique jewelry. She has treasured the world of old and beautiful things, but her first love is that of a maker. She is now working as a fiber artist and teacher with a primary focus on animals sculpted in wool. The process she uses is called needle felting. She starts with a fluffy batt of wool and with thousands of punctures using a barbed needle the wool compresses(felts) into her desired vision. As the animals emerge, they reveal their histories and personalities to her in the same way characters in a novel show themselves to their authors.
