Mastering the art of botanical contact printing, also known as eco-printing, has been a truly remarkable and joyful journey. I turn to nature for inspiration of color, shape, texture, and line, sourcing these elements from both foraged and cultivated plants. Each creation starts with a blank white canvas—natural fibers like silk, cotton or linen. Some of my go to botanicals include sumac, cosmos blossoms, and Japanese indigo from my own garden. Every day brings a new adventure as I craft these unique, one-of kind, pieces of art with the alchemy of nature’s color. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out—I love discussing this process and the plants I use to create the work! |
