Cynthia Ellis

Juried Member Since 2010

Cynthia Ellis started her creative journey by driving (on a lark) from NH to CA in 1978 and joining Berkeley’s street artist scene after finishing college at UCSF. (Dad’s “congrad$” yielded 2nd-hand woodworking tools.) What began with crafting pocket-boxes, silly toys, or gadgets to manage some task for a customer (or herself) evolved to focus on designing unique tools for fiber arts — some are featured in trade magazines! In 2010 she juried into the League of NH Craftsmen and later produced a brief workshop video for the 2020 Virtual Fair. During the 88th Annual Fair she turned wood daily in Demo Booth E, and later created this comprehensive video of her 45-year craft history for the ARA.*

This craftsmen is one of many who have provided wonderful video content for the League’s YouTube channel.  Virtually visit artist studios and watch demonstrations any time, and enjoy the chance to see these master craftsmen in action.
