Ann Peck

Ann Peck, an American fiber artist, maintains art studios on both sides of the globe, spending half of the year in the United States and the other half in India. She holds a Masters of Fine Arts Degree in drawing and painting from Southern Illinois University. Influenced by her research of Japanese spontaneous ink painters in graduate studies, she developed her own abstract style where the brush stroke became the pivotal element in the painting. Ann uses sumi ink, an intense black waterproof and light fast ink hand painted on raw silk. Sumi ink and non toxic fabric dyes are combined with techniques such as resist, hand printing, stenciling, embroidery and gold leaf for a unique image.
