Aaron Clapp,a New Hampshire resident was born in 1970. Clapp creates wooden spoons, bowls and sculpture from what he calls “Natural Wonders” consisting of unusual pieces of wood he finds in the forests of New Hampshire. He is a 4th generation wood worker who has departed from the craft of furniture making to create works of utilitarian art. Clapp learned the art of cabinet making from Mark Hopkins of Canterbury New Hampshire but is a self taught spoon maker. As juried member of the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen his work can be viewed in galleries across New Hampshire or at the annual Craftsman’s Fair. His work is featured in a collection bequeathed to the Peabody Essex Museum.
