I am a fiber artist and teacher. I have been working with rug hooking for the past 16 years. I design and hook large birds with hand dyed wools and other materials. My inspiration for the birds I design comes from watching the birds in nature and than researching the birds shapes, colors, movements and habits. The technique I use to hook the birds is to raise the wool for the bird and sculpt it into the shape of the birds wings or body. I enhance the finished piece with textured yarns and feathers. My birds have received 4 viewers choice awards from Hooked In the Mountains shows. I was a Green Mt Rug Hooking Guild featured artist in 2022. I have had 3 pieces of my work featured in Celebrations rug hooking magazine.
