Nancy Horrall

Juried Member Since 1984

Nancy Horrall has always had a love for the colors, textures, patterns and fibers found in textiles. She has been sewing and weaving since childhood and felting for 25 years. She has a degree in art from the University of Wisconsin where she studied weaving with Helen Allen. She views her work as a dialogue between materials, techniques and herself; she manipulates the fiber and it responds, recording her thoughts and informing the viewer of her ideas. Since work is clothing, the wearer shares her thoughts and ideas. Her work is influenced by her love of nature; untamed wilderness and cultured garden as well as the insights gained by studying textiles from other cultures.
