Teresa Taylor is a visual artist whose studio and shop, Salty Dog Pottery, was established in 1973 in Barnstead, NH in the Lakes Region. Her distictive claywork is stoneware that is salt glazed or fired with reduction glazes in deep cobalt blues, sea greens and purples. Her pieces are handbuilt with slabs or altered wheel-thrown forms, masks, and tiles. Her work is done in a series rather than production, so that each piece is individually designed. Nature has a strong influence on her work, especially the forms and surfaces. She loves to stretch, texture, press, roll, throw and alter clay to create visually pleasing and functional pots, which are exhibited throughout New England.
