Weavings By Renee: I have been weaving for 34 years. I fell in love with Navajo weavings on a trip across this country I took with a girlfriend during college summer break. After I met my husband, he told me of a place here in NH called Harrisville Designs. We drove to their store and discovered they were giving a class in Navajo weaving in a few months. I signed up on the spot. Tom Jipson taught that class. The moment I touched the loom, I knew I had found home and my life’s passion. Except for that class I am mostly self-taught. I LOVE color! I weave scarves using chenille, rayon, silk and metallics. Many of my yarns are hand painted.
