Dan Dustin, a 48 year veteran of the League, has exhibited at the Cooper-Hewitt Museum and Elements Gallery in NYC. He has been featured in Fine Woodworking Magazine, New Hampshire Oddities, and numerous other publications. His spoons are in the permanent collection of the Currier Museum of Art and the Peabody Essex Museum. Like the axe handles he and his ancestors made, Dan’s spoons are split from green wood, following the curve of the tree. They are carved to lightness and balance, and cooked dry under hot beeswax and oil. The result is a smooth, durable finish that won’t dry out or soak up food. Each spoon is uniquely beautiful and can be used daily for eating, cooking or serving.
