Unique sculptural woodfired teapot by Lydia Grey, with textured surfaces and an architectural form. Lydia’s ceramic art and functional pottery often incorporates the concept of stories, reflecting her life experiences and her deep connection to nature. She also creates abstract functional pieces she calls “industrial artifacts.” Her work is primarily fired using the time consuming process of woodfiring. The wood fueled kiln must be stoked continuously by hand, usually for days! But the natural wood ash from the firing process melts onto the surface of the pottery during the firing, giving the clay earthy golden hues and the glazes rich luscious depth. This teapot is intended for display, although it does have all the functional components, with lid, spout, and the handle directly incorporated into the pot. A great contemporary piece of art for the home, or for your unique teapot collection.
