Fabric Collage – “Out for a Swim”

Cheryl’s note: This collage is made of various vintage and new cotton, silk, linen, or hand-dyed fabrics that have been machine-stitched and raw-edge appliqued to acid-free printmaking paper. It is mounted in an archival rag board mat and backing, or stitched to a stabilizer if framed without glass. The fabrics were individually chosen for color and pattern to enhance the overall theme of the piece. My work is inspired by nature, art history, and my garden. Each piece I make is a one-of-a-kind textile collage. No glue or paint was used in making this art piece.
