Vibrant polymer clay and sterling silver peony pendant on a colorful beaded strand by Barbara Sperling. Barbara creates her work using a cane work process. She builds up colored polymer clay to form a log of clay in which the image is a cross section. It may take months to build the 4-6″ diameter cane, but then she can roll it to smaller diameters and slice it to feature in her unique one-of-a-kind limited edition jewelry. This beautiful peony pendant hangs from a strand of beads, many of which were also hand-crafted by the artist. Barbara’s work is always intricately detailed and nature inspired, and every one is a wearable piece of art.
