Luminescent handblown-glass oak leaf ornament by glassblower Jocelyn Brown. These vibrant ornaments were each sculpted individually with a technique called flameworking, in which the artist softens and melts glass rods and tubes with a torch to shape them. Jocelyn also sandblasted these ornaments to give the colors a rich velvety surface that brings out the luminous colors. Made from borosilicate glass, (Pyrex) they are not as fragile as you might think. Red, orange, yellow and green, you can bring the colors of the foliage season into your home year round with this beauty in your window. This particular ornament is a soft green with red, orange and caramel colored edges.
