Hand-dyed botanical silk scarf in shades of purple made by Nancy Evans. This scarf is printed with: maple, oak, smoke bush, sumac, blackberry, geranium, coreopsis, horse chestnut, and peach dogwood flowers.
Measures approximately 8 inches at widest by 68 inches long.
Care instructions: Hand wash with cold water and a pH-neutral soap like Dawn. Lay flat to dry. Keep out of direct sunlight.
Nancy’s note: Botanical printing is a technique where plants, leaves, and flowers leave their shapes and colors on fabric. Plant material bundled inside of cloth is steamed to release the dye found naturally inside the plant, creating a contact print. Each print is unique. Various local NH plants and eucalyptus are most commonly used. My wearables are color fast and able to be laundered.Â
