Woods used include cherry, curly maple, wenge, purple heart, black walnut, mahogany, and horse chestnut. Handles are made of horse chestnut from a tree planted by Gen. William Whipple (signer of the Declaration of Independence) in 1776 in Portsmouth, NH.
