For printmaker William Hays, the idea of positive and negative is everything but black and white. He takes the simplicity of linoleum block printing to new levels with his beautiful and complex prints. His prints unfold into a layered mosaic of carved shapes, fitted into compositions conjuring a sense of mood and place dear to the artist’s heart. Hays prints transcend the limitations of a knife and a block of linoleum. Using traditional and innovative techniques of printing, his work stands apart in execution and design. Each archival print is an original work of art and is hand printed on 100% rag paper using oil-based inks. Each print is created in a strictly limited edition.
