Beautiful celadon woodfired teapot by Walter Slowinski, with great functionality and a clean, simple, Japanese aesthetic. Celadon is a traditional Japanese glaze with a soft satin finish that ranges in color from white to blue, green, or yellow. This particular celadon developed some beautiful crazing, enhancing its clean gentle nuance. Made from white stoneware, and featuring an interior built-in tea strainer, this is a wonderful teapot for a serious tea drinker or someone who appreciates the sensual aesthetic of tea. Walter’s work is exclusively woodfired, a time consuming process, as the wood fueled kiln must be stoked continuously by hand, sometimes for days! Strong, durable, and microwave and dishwasher friendly. (Not intended for stovetop)
5″1/2 diameter x 6 1/4″ tall at top of lid (9″1/2 tall to top of handle)
