This hand-thrown flower mug was made using a technique called Sgraffito (i.e. Italian-“to scratch”). This is a surface decorating technique done by applying colors to the hard pottery, and then scratching off parts of the layers to create contrasting images, patterns, and textures in revealing the clay color underneath. This beautiful mug, by Wendy Jackson, makes a great gift! Microwave and dishwasher friendly.
