Stylized ceramic birch bark flower vase with a winsome blue bird on its side by ceramic artist David Ernster, with dark glazed interior. The matte white brushed slip surface lends itself perfectly to the impression of birch bark, and the David’s skillful brushed black strokes complete the effect. With the toasty color of the clay and firing process adding to the natural variations and characteristics, this fully functional flower vase is rustic and playful, as well as a sophisticated piece of artwork.
