Ann, a graphic designer, and Martha, a former teacher of crafts, are life long friends. Inspired by their decades-long appreciation for fine decorative papers, and their fascination with the art of folded paper, they create distinctive three dimensional pieces that explore color, shape, pattern and form. Both NH natives, they have combined their talents to create unique handcrafted designs in their Amherst, NH studio.

The name of this style of 3-D paper ornament made of three strips of intertwined paper comes from the word “triskele”, from the Greek words “Tri” and “Skelos” meaning three legs. Ancient symbols of three parts emanating from a single point, however, are part of many cultures including Celtic, Greek, Italian, Korean and Japanese. The ornaments are assembled from three pieces of paper which are scored and formed to create curved shapes. Most of our Triskele ornaments utilize imported Italian “Carte Varese” papers of one or two colors.
