Ann, a graphic designer, and Martha, a former teacher of crafts, are life long friends. Inspired by their decades-long appreciation for fine decorative papers, and their fascination with the art of folded paper, they create distinctive three dimensional pieces that explore color, shape, pattern and form. Both NH natives, they have combined their talents to create unique handcrafted designs in their Amherst, NH studio.

We have tried to research the origins of the German Bell, but haven’t had much luck beyond reading that German-Russian immigrants introduced these designs to the US. They are each made of one piece of folded and glued papaer. The structure of this ornament allows us to utilize a variety of interesting papers, both imported Italian and domestic papers.
