At Manchester Community College in Manchester CT, Joseph started taking studio classes in sculpture, ceramics, drawing, painting and design and learned he was drawn to 3D artwork. After 3 years of study, Joe was accepted to Rhode Island School of Design in Providence RI. He moved to New Hampshire because years earlier he had visited the League of NH Craftsman's Fair and was impressed with the work.
