I began as a silversmith in a turquoise shop in Oklahoma in 1975; juried into the League in 1988. My art background and sense of adventure turned my self-taught skills into a passion that has lasted a lifetime. My work explores movement, playfulness, texture, and shape using mixed metals and techniques chosen to echo patterns of the world around us. I have a great love of teaching metals to others, and hold classes and workshops in my studio. My work is located in USA, Europe, Scandanavia, and Japan. Patti Cathcart of the husband-and-wife jazz duo ‘Tuck & Patti', owns one of my unique pieces.

The League of NH Craftsmen’s 2016 Annual Ornament, called Pitter Patter, is a whimsical rhodium-plated Elf Boot with etched and silkscreened details. Sussy-Rose Shields, juried in metal by the League, created this ornament which represents the magic and joy of the season with a little elven mischief.

Every year our juried members vie for the honor of creating the League’s Annual Ornament. They submit their work and a selection is made by a specially chosen committee. This tradition began in 1988, and the Annual Ornament has become a must-have holiday treasure. This is the League’s 29th Annual Ornament.

Each ornament is numbered as one of a limited edition, signed and numbered by the artist, and comes beautifully gift-boxed.
