Beautiful hand-beaded necklace entitled “Ad Astra”. Made with glass beads, sterling silver, shell, pearls, and a marquetry shell pendant.
Artist’s Statement: “Ad Astra is a homage to my love of science fiction. I particularly like the stories that speculate about other cultures that might be out there and often watch or listen to sci-fi stories while I work. It seems fitting that the focal piece of this necklace features a shell marquetry that resembles the quilt block pattern known as ‘Star Puzzle’.”
The pendant measures approximately 4 inches long with fringe by 2-3/4 inches wide. Overall length of the necklace is adjustablke from 21 to 24 inches.
