A native of Finland, Tarja Cockell has a degree in textile design majoring in weaving. She is currently living in USA, north of Boston, where she works in mixed textile mediums creating her contemporary wall art pieces. She started as a weaver, but in recent years, her interest in different dyeing and painting techniques has led her to try other processes including quilting and appliqué work. Colors are important starting point for all her work. Themes vary from still life and nature to abstract colorations. Her images are simplified just bringing up the essence of the forms leaving space for the imagination.
Measures approximately 30 inches long by 13-1/2 inches wide.
