My work is English smocking of mainly children’s clothing. All of the smocking is done by hand and everything is French-seamed. I am very particular with my choice of fabric – it has to enhance the design and be of very great quality. I put four inch hems in all the dresses to allow for growth. I smock bishops for little girls, flannel nightgowns with matching doll nighties, Baptismal gowns, baby sacques, bibs, jumpers and sundresses, boys and girls bubbles,doll dresses and adult pieces by request. I sometimes like to step outside the boundaries of traditional fabric and color choices with my smocking to create something distinctly different yet still yielding the classic smocked garment.

This adorable hand-smocked dress is so cheerful in a pink batik print and an embroidered puppy! These dresses are made to be worn for years as the generous hem can be let down.
