My work begins with an observation, experience or object that I stumble upon. I'm inspired by art and design that came before me and use this as a reference point in much of my work adding a contemporary twist. I make collages with hand dyed cottons, vintage fabrics and sometimes paper elements that incorporate traditional and modern quilting techniques. I think that viewers respond to my work because it depicts the familiar in an unusual medium.

Cheryl Miller’s fabric collages have great texture with many fabrics and some occasional surprises in paper or stamps. This one with a Sunflower theme (and a bit of Broadway). Matted to 8×10.
