Born and raised in Southern Sweden, Brita has lived half of her life in her native country and the other half in the Northeastern United States. A lifetime creative craftswoman, she began working with wool over twenty years ago, her craft passed down by native Swedes. She works with traditional patterns but also draws inspiration from nature and from her heart to create her own designs. Her exhibitions in Sweden have included museums, Medieval Fairs at castles and artistic craft shows. Here in the States she is only beginning to exhibit her work.
Crewel embroidered pillow by Brita Ek with two birds in branches is beautifully handcrafted; made of wool; 9″ square.
