The Gerry Williams Memorial Scholarship

Purpose

The Gerry Williams Memorial Scholarship is administered by the League and is designed to provide supplementary financial assistance to students pursuing an education in the field of fine or performing arts, and/or craft related studies.

Eligibility

A Dunbarton resident graduating from high school is eligible to receive a Gerry Williams Memorial Scholarship. In the event that there is no candidate who fits this criterion, the scholarship opportunity shall then be opened to any student graduating from Bow High School. The application process is competitive. The
Scholarship Committee is interested in supporting intensive educational  activities that present creative approaches to learning and are designed to:

  • Meet the challenges of a career as a professional craftsperson
  • Develop a personal interest in a craft discipline
  • Improve personal understanding of a craft-related topic such as design or aesthetics
  • Advance a skill or learn a new technique in a craft medium
  • Enhance individual creativity

Application Deadlines

Applications for the Gerry Williams Memorial Scholarship must be submitted by April 1st. The Scholarship Committee will review all applications and make recommendations. Payment of scholarship will be made in June.
