Susan Bradford

Juried Member Since 2003

In 1970, I moved to Vermont. I attended UVM in 1977 & 1978 to study flat pattern making, draping and costume design. The skills I learned have kept me working in sheepskin for over 30 years. My creations are made from the softest sheepskins which are tanned in England. The pliability of these skins allow me to use countless innovative techniques such as gathering, pleating and facing when making coats, hats and other accessories. I focus on attention to detail in my work by including things like antique buttons, handmade velvet flowers and lambsuede leaves and using large skins to give coats a long, clean look. I offer both whimsical & sophisticated looks.
