I began weaving in 2001 during a visit to Santa Fe, New Mexico where I took a class in landscape tapestry. With a background in watercolor painting, knitting and needlepoint, I quickly became enthralled with the process of “painting with wool.” Though my approach to tapestry is grounded in contemporary Southwestern techniques, my personal style is influenced by the landscapes and skyscapes that surround me every day here in northern New Hampshire. I have a palette of nearly 200 colors of wool, all of which I dye in my home studio. Among the master weavers I have studied with are: Joan Baxter, James Koehler, Christine Laffer. Susan Martin Maffai, and Robin Ryder.
