Juried Member Since 1970

My current work reflects an exploration of color in dyeing, spinning, and rug hooking. The hooked mats are made with locally sourced wool that I’ve hand dyed and spun into yarn. I generally sketch from life or photos to develop an idea for a hooked mat, finding inspiration for both the image and color in nature. The image continues to change as the piece evolves.

My textile journey began when my Nana taught me to knit and embroider as a young child. I continued to develop this interest and attended the Rhode Island School of Design, majoring in Textile Design.
