Sam began making ceramics in 2014 after getting out the navy and embarking on a journey to find expressive ways to work with his hands and work though stress. He found clay by chance at a small community college in Virginia, a class that would lead him down a path with clay that he never expected. Going on to a four year apprenticeship he learned the ins and out of studio pottery, and the work and dedication it took to make it work. He moved to New Hampshire in 2022, built his own small gas kiln, and fires functional and sculptural ceramics at his home studio in Washington.
