As an Air Force brat, I moved often in childhood. Art was the foundation I relied on while coping with insecurities of moving to new and strange places. I am drawn to things that are humble, down to earth and have a large dose of Wabi Sabi…the beauty in decay. A long journey with many tangents led me to the artistic voice in my current mixed media. After attending Vesper George School of Art in Boston, I became an old school sign painter, all designs, lettering, illustrations done by hand. After 30 years, I decided to move on to stained glass, copper repousse, wood carving, needle felting. Precision and fine detail are a consistent part of my artistic expression. My current work is a culmination of all the different mediums I have worked in. I put them all to use with a large dose of faith! I am drawn to the thrill of the hunt, always looking for that perfect something that can be used, but not for its original intent.
